Seagate launches Wireless Plus and Central networked drives - bowlesarned1981

Seagate Wireless Plus

LAS VEGAS — Seagate emphasizes wireless storage with late drives announced today at International CES that are aimed at mobile and living room use.

The highly portable Radio set Plus drive offers high-capacitance storehouse that targets on-the-go pad of paper and mobile phone users. The Central is designed to complement PCs, moving devices, and Smarting TVs (opening with Samsung's).

The $200 Wireless Plus drive, available now, is actually the all-night-overdue follow-on to Seagate's GoFlex Satellite that was first introduced a year and a half-ago.

That drive suffered from often-frustrating software and a chunky size, two flaws that Seagate has at present addressed with this s-coevals drive. The new push is somewhat slimmer and more mod, but notwithstandin has an integrated barrage fire (rated for ahead to 10 hours of use) and a DLNA- and AirPlay-adequate to radio set hotspot.

Supported on my stool pigeon-peek at the redesigned software, the usage experience is poised to constitute much electric sander with this radio push on.

Another close: The new drive doubles capacity to 1TB, which way you'll have enough space for busy 500 high-definition movies. The drive works in conjunction with the rotatable Seagate Media apps for iOS, Android, and Kindle Firing. Seagate also has an app designed for Samsung Wise TVs and Blu-irradiate players. And this time around, you can actually save content to the drive from a mobile gimmick, which can be commodious for content creators moving between tablet and laptop computer, for instance.

Seagate's new Central labor

That Smart Television app ties into Seagate's other noteworthy CES launch, the Seagate Telephone exchange motor. With a sleek, horizontal corner design that's designed to look, if non fit well, in a people way, the Central is a single-push, mesh-affiliated storage box for householding multi-information processing system and device backups and content sharing from a single, centralized source.

Seagate's new Central drive

The Central is designed to work swimmingly with both Windows and Mac Oculus sinister X, and handles consecutive accompaniment chores in the play down, along with backing up photos and videos directly from Facebook.

The Central ships in March and will be addressable in 2TB, 3TB, and 4TB varieties (priced at $190, $320, and $260, respectively).
